I made this post on my blog to stress why it is worthwhile addressing on page SEO:

The term “On Page SEO” is used to describe all methods used on the pages of the website to enhance its prospects with the search engines.

On page SEO has been around since the web began but getting a first page listing in the search engines is becoming more competitive all the time so it is more important than ever.

The key point about On Page SEO is that it is totally in the control of the webmaster so there is no reason why it cannot be done effectively. The amazing thing is that most websites are not properly optimised for the search engines, so sites that are will have an advantage.
